While the Mater Hospital SYDNEY has all the appropriate precautions in place to ensure its COVID-19 preparedness, the Hospital remains fully functional with all services operating as per normal. We are working closely with NSW Health to help protect and keep our patients, visitors, staff and doctors safe from COVID-19.
Visitor guidelines - from Tuesday 1 December 2020
Patients can now have a maximum of 2 visitors at any one time. This means a patient can have more than 2 visitors a day, however only 2 at any one time.
General Visiting Hours: 10.30am - 8.00pm
Maternity Visiting: 3.00pm - 4.30pm & 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Patients may have up to two visitors + the patient's children. Partners can visit at all hours.
Please note: visitors must leave the room during any clinical procedure/review by a nurse, doctor or allied health staff.
- Face masks may be required depending on COVID risk status. Check with our staff.
- No visitors who have been in any identified hotspots in the past 14 days
- Social distancing guidelines still apply – no shaking hands, hugging or kissing, keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and other people.
- Avoid visiting vulnerable people, such as those with compromised immune systems due to illness or medical treatment.
A support person may remain with a patient and is not restricted to visitor times if they are a carer for a child under the age of 18 or a carer for a patient with a disability.
