Bio

A/Prof Felix Chan is a certified gynaecological oncologist and is currently the Director of Gynaecological Oncology at Southwest Area Health Service. He is a leading gynaecological robotic surgeon in Australia. He performed the first single site robotic hysterectomy in Australia in August 2013 and pioneered multiple techniques in robotic gynaecological surgery. He is an instructor for robotic surgery in Australia. 
 
A/Prof Chan has more than twenty years of surgical experience and specialises in advanced laparoscopic, robotic, vaginal and open surgery for the treatment of gynaecologic malignancies and complex gynaecological problems. He serves as a senior lecturer for UNSW, Associated Professor for Western Sydney University and a tutor in surgical skills for RANZCOG. He has been a nominee for Australian of the Year in 2009, 2011 and 2012. He was the winner of the Paul Harris Fellowship in 2012, the Vocational Excellence Award from Australian Rotary and Gold Companion for Rotary Australia 2012. He is the Medical Director of Eggtober Foundation who raises funds for Gynaecological Cancer research. A/Prof Chan is also a member of the NSW Doctors Orchestra.

A/Prof Chan has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical, vaginal and vulval dysplasia. He had been a training supervisor for RANZCOG and involved in the training of specialist gynaecologists and gynaecological oncologists.
