You are here:
Our graduate year will run for 12 months on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE) and will commence on 01st March 2021 with 16-week rotations offered in all areas - Birth Suite, Postnatal and Special Care Nursery (level 4). We provide you with comprehensive orientation, study days, a dedicated support team of CME/CNE and dedicated preceptors in each area.
The graduate year for midwives at the Mater Hospital, North Sydney is a great opportunity to put knowledge into practice. At the commencement of each rotation, graduates will be offered supernumerary support specific to each ward within Maternity Services. The study days are tailored to meet the specific needs of your graduate group and cover a broad range of topics that promote creative and reflective midwifery best practice.
The Mater Hospital provides a comprehensive range of services to women from 32 weeks gestation and are the only private hospital in NSW to have a level 4 SCN and an onsite neonatologist which enables us to provide CPAP on site.
We welcome midwives who are passionate about caring for women, who can work effectively within a team, and who will enjoy the challenge of developing as midwives. We understand the importance of regular feedback and provide a structured performance review program at the completion of each rotation. The support team will meet regularly with you to discuss your progress and identify ongoing learning needs to help you consolidate and develop your midwifery practice.
